TheHandbagEdit - An ode to Red

I understand the inclination to veer towards muted neutral tones when it comes to accessories. Yet, colored handbags, & shoes for that matter, can easily bring together outfits as well. Take the red lip or red nails, they have long become beauty classics. Here I ask you to take a moment and consider the red bag as an alternative to your usual bag color. Though, a long time ago, I owned a Balanciaga Rouge Vif bag, we long parted ways and I have yet to fill that void. For the time being I feed my urge through street style images of lustworthy red handbags.

I adore how each of these ladies highlighted their red bag against army green backgrounds. Note to self- army/olive + red combo leads to effortless chicness!

After my failed attempt at obtaining the perfect red bag via Alexander Wang's new Fall Color Cayenne (nice but not bright enough!) my pursuit continues. Two lovely options currently available are Proenza Schouler's PS1 in bright red at Opening Ceremony (thought the style is too similar to my newly acquired Mulberry Alexa) and the Givenchy Nightingale in a lipstick red available at Luisa Via Roma. My only task now is to stop spending and start saving in order to attain this holy grail of mine!
