StyleInspiration - CARRIE BRADSHAW

So my sister has been on me about ruining a pair of gold over-sized Gucci aviators she got at Saks a few years ago for a very good price. I did not understand why was she so fascinated with these glasses now? So I asked and she told me the reason is: the widely spread metallic mirrored aviator trend got to her, but, preferring to go a classic route she is partial to Gold vs. Green or Orange. I still did not get it. Then she said the magic words: I want to channel Carrie Bradshaw, to be specific, Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City 2 film. Cue in aha moment!

Why watch the trend from the sidelines? Why not adapt the trend to what we feel comfortable with? Isn't that the definition of personal style? I love sunglasses, I really do, but my head is small so fortunately/unfortunately my options are limited given most frames are too wide for my face (literally they fall off!). This personal feature forces me to be a bit more conservative when it comes to the purchase of sunglasses, so I can relate to those hesitant to jump on any trend bandwagon. Therefore, if you like the mirrored sunglasses trend & think it is cool, but, remain on the fence, I suggest taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw's book and going for the mirrored sunglasses look in classic metal colors, such as gold and silver, in a classic aviator shape!
