According to Roopal Patel, vintage floral prints are in for Spring 2014. Now it may be due to an insatiable home decor appetite or just a whim but I am really feeling this concept! Recently Caroline Sieber stepped out for Paris Couture fashion week in a Blue & White Chinoiserie print that caught my eye. Now, if you have check Caro's Instagram you can see she is no stranger to the beauty of vintage florals as evident in this image which appears to be taken in her London home. That said, it is still admirable she made succeeded in the interpretation of a homey print into a modern and fresh reality when she attended the Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 Haute Couture show.

Now we can't all dress in Giambattista Valli but this little concoction below is my take on bringing a vintage floral print into your sartorial repertoire.

Counterclockwise: Motel dress, Monika Chiang pumps, Barbara Bui
leather belt & YSL Rouge Volupté Shine (image info with item details)

  1. Motel Petal Shift Dress In Venus Print $70 (image via Asos)
  2. Monika Chiang Menesse Sling-back Pump in Black/Silver $197.50 (image via Monika Chiang)
  3. Barbara Bui Curb chain leather belt in White $220 (image via Intermix)
  4. Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine in 6 Pink in Devotion $34 (image via Sephora)

I like the idea of cinching the waist in order to not loose your shape in an otherwise matronly print. That said, I also prefer the print and your lips do the talking thus sticking to black for bag and shoes.
