BeautyTalk - Aging Gracefully

Rachel Weisz is the epitome of an
"Beauty has no expiration date." Our bodies take a beating simply surviving the various situations we deal with daily. Whether you are mom juggling the home and kids' schedules, a corporate crusader or young woman trying to make it, the fact is our days are long and our faces pay the price. We all know drinking water and getting sleep are basic requirements, but, what else can we do to ensure looking & feeling our best without going under the knife?

This sense of owning what God gave me is a constant evolution which has enabled a graceful transition into my 30s. Growing up, far from considered good looking, I settled comfortably in the awkward realm until my 20s, when, like many, I found ways to maximize God's given traits and put my best foot forward, figuratively and literally. At this time I have never used Botox nor fillers (have not ruled it out forever though), and, I firmly (no pun intended) believe the items below are to be given credit for this!

Aging gracefully tools & ingredients (in usage order):
  1. Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Cleansing Foam: (I used to use Nuance by Salma Hayek's oxygenated cleanser but it was discontinued) I see oxygenated cleansers like breathing life into skin. You feel life being sucked back in and re-energized!
  2. Clarisonic Mia cleanser: making sure your skin is extra clean not only ensures it is rid from toxins but it also enables the products you use to be better absorbed!
  3. Restorsea Recharging Finishing mist: this is supposed to be the essence of Restorsea in its purest form and I use this by simply spritzing my face with this as soon as I finish showering, since I complete steps 1 & 2 in the shower. (Get to know this awesome brand - In honor of new spokesperson Gwyneth Paltrow you can now get an amazing Restorsea starter kit with a savings of $170!)
  4. Extra Virgin Olive Oil: This might sound weird but awhile ago I learned that EVOO has been used for years as a moisturizer in Mediterranean lands. It is believed to contain oils which our skin produces naturally. I do sometimes use a daily moisturizer or serum (whichever samples I have around) in addition to EVOO, but, this is the one product I do not live without as it is the easiest to find! I also noticed Restorsea's new night cream includes olive oil - so let's just say olive oil rocks!
  5. Restorsea Revitalizing Eye Cream: OK this has seriously turned back some time - crows feet, fine lines, tired eyes will be seriously fought by this cream! The main reason I was attracted to Restorsea was their use of novel ingredients (Vibransea complex) found in nature. As the organic fad has become a lifestyle it is important to view or skin the same way as our bodies aka what goes in or on matters!
  6. Clarisonic Opal Sonic Skin Infuser: The use of this device does get me some odd looks at the gym but the alternative is not worth it! By using sonic pulses this little tool ensures the skin's ultimate absorption of the products applied. You see in order to maximize your products effect you need to ensure they don't just lie on top of the skin, but, rather they go deep and our finger tips can only do so much. I use this under eyes, on smile lines, nose-bridge and forehead after completing the previous steps. (Whenever I become lazy for stretches of time I can see a difference! Especially around the eyes!)

Extras: Once a week a good mask is vital and REN's Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal mask is the best for dewy baby skin! And, I take fish oil pills and biotin everyday.

Far from being this uber healthy person I believe in balance: just as I thoroughly enjoy a burger, fries and drinks, I, also, am always in the pursuit of mind-body balance and have practiced yoga on and off since I was seventeen (which is believed to aid in anti-aging). So, in my opinion, it is all about finding what you need to feed your skin and body and the steps above are a great place to start!
